DT-03 Silicone & Wax Remover

This chemical is formulated from several types of alcohol and mild solvents specifically to remove all dressings, protectants, waxes and oils from any surface prior to repairing or coloring. The chemical should be liberally applied to the area to be repaired by using a cloth or paper towel. The area should then be wiped dry with a clean cloth to remove all contaminants that have been lifted from the surface. DT-03 Silicone and Wax Remover is the strongest cleaning agent in our arsenal. It is very effective in removing all dressings and silicones, as well as dirt that has accumulated on the damaged area. A test of the area should performed prior to its’ use, due to the fact that some finishes may be damaged by this chemical. Available sizes: 8 oz., 16 oz., 32 oz., Gallon

DT-1106 Vinyl Prep

This chemical is formulated from several types of solvents specifically to remove all dressings, protectants, waxes and oils from any surface prior to repairing or Color Coating. The chemical should be applied in heavy, wet amounts with a cloth or paper towel and then immediately wiped dry with a dry towel. Vinyl Prep will thoroughly remove any foreign matter found on the surface of the Vinyl, but most importantly, will dissolve and soften the first layer of the finish of the Vinyl, making it possible for all repair materials to become a permanent part of the Vinyl itself. Do not allow the solution to dry before wiping the area as this will allow the dressings and oils to settle back to the surface of the leather.
Available sizes: 8 oz., 16 oz., 32 oz., Gallon

DT-110 Canvas Sub Patch Material

Canvas sub-patch will always be used when performing repairs to very flexible vinyl's that have been cut or torn all the way through to the foam padding underneath. The sub-patch should be cut a minimum of 1/2 inch diameter larger than the hole to be repaired and inserted through the hole with a pair of tweezers and worked around so as to lie flat and no outline of the sub patch to be seen on the surface of the vinyl. Occasionally the Vinyl must be separated from the foam padding before inserting the sub-patch since some manufacturers prefer to glue the Vinyl to the foam padding. The sub-patch may then be adhered into place using DT-120, Vinyl Repair Compound. This will give the repaired area much more strength as well as make the repair process much easier. Canvas sub-patch can also be used as a backing to repair holes in convertible tops which have been cut or torn through the cloth backing of the material. In this case the sub-patch must be glued to the underside of the material (from inside the car) using DT-10 LIQUID VINYL, and after the repair is completed the sub-patch may be dyed to match the interior side of the top so that it will not be seen as readily.
Available sizes: 12” X 12”, 1/2 yard, 1 yard.

DT-118 Graining Compound

Graining Compound is a two part, silicone based product which allows you to make a "mirror image" of any grain pattern. This is a two-part compound requiring DT-119 Catalyst. The mixture will be spread over an area which has a grain pattern that you wish to reproduce. This mixture will fully cure in about 5-10 minutes. You now have an exact opposite of the grain pattern which may then be transferred to the repair material giving an exact grain pattern match. These patches will last for a very long time and will be used over and over again. DT-118 GRAINING COMPOUND will work in conjunction with hot patch repair compounds such as DT-120, VINYL REPAIR COMPOUND and DT-121, LOW TEMP REPAIR COMPOUND which are both cured by using heat. The repair compounds are heated to a temperature which makes them liquefy allowing you to impress the grain pattern into the material.
Available Sizes: 4 oz., 16 oz., 32 oz., Gallon

DT-119 Graining Compound Catalyst

This is the curing agent for DT-118 GRAINING COMPOUND. The recommended mixture is 1 oz of Graining Compound to 6-8 drops of Catalyst. This combination will allow sufficient working time to mix the material and get it spread into place. If a faster cure is desired more drops of catalyst may be added to the mixture, but be careful not to add too many drops of catalyst since this will make the grain patch too hard and lose flexibility.
Available Sizes: .5 oz., 2 oz., 4 oz.,.

DT-120 Vinyl Repair Compound

Vinyl Repair Compound is strictly used to make repairs to soft, flexible vinyl, primarily seat upholstery, door panels, trim panels or any vinyl which is obviously very flexible and soft. VINYL REPAIR COMPOUND is made from the exact same materials as is Vinyl itself. Therefore, a permanent, invisible repair may be completed easily. The material is heat cured using a heat torch, heat gun or curing tool. Curing temperatures range from 350º-450º F. The material will appear cloudy and whitish looking, but will become clear, shiny and liquid looking while curing. A grain pattern will be impressed into the cured material by use of the DT-118 Grain Patch . Available Sizes: 2 oz., 4 oz., 16 oz., 32 oz.

DT-121 Lo-Temp Vinyl Repair Compound

LO TEMP VINYL REPAIR COMPOUND is similar in every respect to DT-120 VINYL REPAIR COMPOUND with a few minor differences. Low Temp may be used in any situation that DT-120 can be used and will result in strong, permanent, invisible repairs in exactly the same manner. The major difference is that Low Temp requires a much lower curing temperature than does DT-120 and may be used on some expanded vinyl's which do not tolerate much heat. The characteristics and workability of Low Temp is exactly the same as DT-120 except that Low Temp may be applied in much thinner layers. It is also a lower viscosity than DT-120 and will flow slightly more. The primary use of Low Temp will be for making repairs to very thin, heat sensitive vinyl's. Available Sizes: 2 oz., 4 oz., 16 oz., 32 oz.

Semi-Rigid Vinyl, Dash & Plastic Repair Products

DT-01 Flex Kit

Flex, is a 2-part epoxy type compound that cures by a chemical process when the two parts are equally combined. This material is used as a base filler when making repairs to cracked dashes, armrests and hard plastic parts. It remains extremely flexible after cured and may be used to fill large areas or gaps in semi rigid materials. It may also be used to make repairs to cracked or torn rubber bumper covers. Curing time takes approximately 10 min. in 50-70 degree dry weather. When cured it is a flexible solid material which may be sanded, shaved with a razor blade, drilled or otherwise shaped as needed.

DT-10 Liquid Vinyl

Liquid Vinyl is a highly concentrated mixture of plasticizers and ketones. When exposed to air the ketones evaporate leaving the raw plasticizers in place creating a thin layer of a vinyl-like substance. Liquid Vinyl is primarily used as a base adhesive combined with fiberglass Mesh as well as the liquid mixture (part A) of Peanut butter. It may also be used to permanently glue vinyl together. The ketones actually dissolve the vinyl to which it has been applied and when pressed together and allowed to dry thoroughly the two pieces of vinyl actually become one. Liquid Vinyl strengthens as it cures. The longer the liquid vinyl is in position the stronger it gets. Liquid vinyl dries in about 3-5 minutes in 60 to 70 degree temperature, with low humidity. Excessive heat, such as from a heat gun or curing tool, will damage the durability of the chemical. An excellent compound for repairing very small cracks or surface damage on Non-Stress areas as well as adhering two separated pieces of vinyl back together such as when a welt cord separates from a seat etc. Color coating may not be necessary when performing these types of repair.
Available sizes: 4 oz., 8 oz., 16 oz., 32 oz., Gallon

DT-11 Peanut Butter Powder

The powder portion of the PEANUT BUTTER compound is made of a plastic material ground to a super fine powder. When combined with DT-10 LIQUID VINYL it is made into a paste which can be applied to semi-rigid type vinyl's and hard plastics. The combined mixture is then referred to as PEANUT BUTTER because of its' appearance and the way that it is spread on repair surfaces. The most common use of PEANUT BUTTER is on dash repairs after fiberglass mesh has been put into place. PEANUT BUTTER is workable after about ten minutes of drying time. PEANUT BUTTER may only be sanded. Heat cannot be applied to PEANUT BUTTER, this will only cause the material to bubble up and come loose from the area you are trying to repair. PEANUT BUTTER can be used as a filler for minor scratches and indentions in semi-rigid materials. After drying, PEANUT BUTTER is fairly flexible, but it cannot be used on extremely flexible materials such as seat vinyl etc. The flexibility and workability of PEANUT BUTTER can be controlled by the amount of LIQUID VINYL mixed into the powder, the more LIQUID VINYL used, the more flexible the PEANUT BUTTER will be when cured. PEANUT BUTTER should only be mixed in small amounts since its' shelf life is very short. PEANUT BUTTER will always be used over top of DT-01 Flex and fiberglass and should be used as a finishing layer on repairs made to hard plastics. It may also be used on more flexible vinyl's when the application does not require a lot of wear and flexing such as door panels, trim panels, bumpers, etc. when a heat repair process is not appropriate.
Available sizes: 4 oz., 16 oz., 32 oz.

DT-15 Grey Grain

This material is used to replace the grain on a repaired area after PEANUT BUTTER or similar type of repair compound has been used. It is a lacquer based material which when sprayed on with a Preval sprayer produces a heavy "orange peel" effect . This effect which will be referred to as a simulated grain pattern can be easily worked to match the existing grain pattern of the surrounding area. The material is allowed to dry, usually in about 5-10 minutes and then lightly sanded with 220 grit sandpaper just to smooth the surface and give it a more natural appearing grain pattern. Color Coats may be applied over GREY GRAIN once it has been dried and prepared. For use only on Semi Rigid Vinyls and Hard Plastics.
Available sizes: 200cc , 8 oz., 16 oz., 32 oz., Gallon

Cyanoacrylates (Super Glues)

Cyanoacrylates are more commonly known as "Super Glue". These adhesives may be very helpful in making repairs to Semi-Rigid Vinyls and Hard Plastics. However, these adhesives must be strictly controlled as to the manner in which they are used as well as the application of the material itself. Even though repairs may be done using these adhesives, they will not always provide for a permanent, pleasing repair. Choosing the correct product for the correct application is critical.

DT-135 Thin Super Glue
Thin Super Glue is a very watery like liquid which tends to flow quite freely. Its' main purpose is to soak into and under two different materials in order to hold them together from the under side when it is impossible to reach otherwise. Once cured, the adhesive may be sanded using 180 /220 grit sandpaper. 4 oz. Bottle

DT-136 Medium Super Glue

Medium Super Glue is thicker in viscosity than Thin Super Glue and will perform in exactly the same manner, but will flow much slower, making it possible to keep the material in a specific area. Its' main purpose is to be used as a slight filler between gapped edges of a damaged area. Once cured, the adhesive may be sanded using 180 grit sandpaper.

DT-137 Thick Super Glue

Thick Super Glue is the highest viscosity cyanoacrylate. This material may be used to fill gaps and small holes without running and also provides a much stronger bond. Keep in mind however that this material, when cured, is not a flexible repair agent. Therefore it cannot be used in making repairs which require filling cracks or holes in very flexible material such as vinyl or leather.

DT-138 Insta-Gel

Insta-Gel is a gel form of cyanoacrylates and may be used in situations where material flow is not needed. It may be spread with a palette knife to fill larger holes found in vinyl and plastics that are not required to move or flex. It is highly recommended for making repairs to non-flexible pieces made with expanded vinyls such as door panels, consoles and trim panels where the heat repair process cannot be used. It is also capable of filling larger holes (up to 1/4 inch in diameter) in hard plastics, such as consoles which have had mobile phones or other accessories mounted and removed and left the screw holes. It too is easily sanded using 180 grit sandpaper to a fine smooth finish. 1 oz. Tube
